Privacy Policy

A clear account of how Eternal Roam handles privacy for visitors, account holders, and people using My Journey or sacred-travel planning features.

Last updated: [Month Day, Year]

Eternal Roam respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you visit Eternal Roam, create an account, use My Journey, contact us, or interact with our travel, pilgrimage, saints, destinations, routes, and planning features.

Eternal Roam is a Catholic sacred-travel and pilgrimage platform. We use information to operate the site, improve our content and tools, help users save and plan journeys, provide relevant recommendations, protect the service, and communicate with users who choose to hear from us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not make your saved journeys, notes, profile, or planning activity public by default. We do not share private My Journey data with sponsors, tourism boards, guides, or travel partners unless you ask us to, consent to it, or sharing is necessary to fulfill a request you make.

01

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information.

Information you provide to us

You may provide information directly to Eternal Roam when you:

  • create an account
  • save places, saints, routes, journeys, or notes
  • contact us
  • subscribe to updates or newsletters
  • request information, support, planning help, or other services
  • respond to surveys or feedback requests
  • use future features that allow you to submit preferences, requests, or other content

This information may include:

  • name
  • email address
  • username
  • password or authentication information
  • account settings
  • saved journey preferences
  • places, saints, routes, notes, or other items you choose to save
  • travel interests, pilgrimage preferences, or planning details you choose to provide
  • communications you send to us

Because Eternal Roam is a Catholic travel and pilgrimage platform, some information you choose to save or submit may reflect religious interests, travel intentions, devotional interests, or other personal preferences. You should only save or submit information you are comfortable providing to Eternal Roam.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, your profile, saved journeys, notes, and planning activity are private by default.

My Journey and saved planning information

My Journey allows you to save places, saints, routes, and related planning information.

When you use My Journey without an account, saved items may be stored locally in your browser using local storage or similar browser-based technology. Local browser storage remains on your device unless you choose to create an account, sync your journey, submit information through a form, or otherwise send information to Eternal Roam.

If you create an account, we may store saved places, saints, routes, notes, journey preferences, and related planning information so you can access them across devices or sessions.

Usage and interaction information

We may collect information about how people use Eternal Roam, including:

  • pages viewed
  • searches performed
  • features used
  • saved journey actions
  • referring pages or links
  • approximate device, browser, and operating system information
  • general engagement patterns
  • error logs, performance data, and security logs

We use this information to understand which saints, places, routes, destinations, and features are useful, improve search and recommendations, troubleshoot errors, protect the site, and develop better pilgrimage-planning tools.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand broader travel, pilgrimage, destination, and content trends. Aggregated or de-identified information does not reasonably identify an individual user.

Location information

Some Eternal Roam features may use location information to show nearby churches, shrines, sacred sites, routes, destinations, or other relevant content.

We may use:

  • approximate location based on technical signals such as IP address
  • more precise location only if you choose to allow it through your browser or device

You can disable location access through your browser or device settings. If you do not allow location access, some nearby-place features may not work as intended.

We do not use precise location to make your saved journeys public by default.

Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

Eternal Roam may use cookies, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to:

  • keep the site functioning
  • remember settings or saved items
  • support account login
  • measure performance
  • understand site usage
  • improve search, content, and planning features
  • protect against abuse or security threats

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies or local storage are disabled.

02

We may use information to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve Eternal Roam
  • provide accounts and authentication
  • save and sync My Journey information
  • remember your settings and preferences
  • show relevant saints, places, routes, destinations, and planning suggestions
  • provide nearby-place features if location access is enabled

  • send newsletters or updates if you subscribe
  • understand how users interact with Eternal Roam
  • improve search results, content structure, recommendations, and journey-planning tools
  • develop new features and services
  • monitor site performance and fix errors
  • protect against fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and security threats
  • comply with legal obligations

We do not use private saved journeys, notes, or account-level planning data to train third-party artificial intelligence models unless we provide clear notice and obtain consent where required.

03

Accounts and Profiles

If you create an account, we may collect and store information needed to operate that account, including your name, email address, username, authentication information, account settings, saved journey information, and preferences.

Your account is intended to help you save and plan sacred travel. Eternal Roam does not make your saved journeys, notes, planning activity, or profile information public by default.

If we later introduce optional sharing features, public profiles, group planning, parish tools, or similar features, we will make those features clear and give users control over what is shared.

04

Travel Planning, Partnerships, and Sponsored Content

Eternal Roam may work with tourism boards, diocesan partners, pilgrimage operators, hospitality providers, local guides, cultural institutions, affiliates, sponsors, or other travel-related partners.

We may publish sponsored, partner-supported, affiliate, or curated journey content. When appropriate, sponsored or affiliate content may be labeled.

We do not share your private My Journey data, saved notes, account information, or personal planning activity with sponsors, tourism boards, guides, or travel partners unless:

  • you ask us to share it
  • you consent to the sharing
  • sharing is necessary to fulfill a request you make
  • sharing is required by law

If you submit a request for a bespoke journey, booking referral, local guide, concierge help, group pilgrimage, or similar service, we may use the information you provide to respond to that request and may share relevant details with service providers or partners involved in fulfilling it.

If you click an affiliate, referral, sponsored, booking, or partner link, the third-party site may know that you came from Eternal Roam and may collect information under its own privacy policy.

05

Payments and Bookings

Eternal Roam may offer paid products, planning services, booking referrals, affiliate links, sponsored journeys, or other commercial features in the future.

If payments are offered, payment information may be processed by third-party payment processors. Payment processors and booking partners may collect and process payment or booking information under their own privacy policies.

If you use a third-party booking, payment, affiliate, or partner service, that service’s privacy policy applies.

06

Newsletters and Communications

If you subscribe to an Eternal Roam newsletter or request updates, we may use your email address to send you content, product updates, travel resources, or related communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

We may still send non-marketing messages related to your account, security, transactions, support requests, or important service notices.

07

We may share information with:

  • hosting providers
  • analytics providers
  • email and newsletter providers
  • authentication and security providers
  • payment processors, if payments are offered
  • customer support or communication tools
  • contractors or service providers who help operate Eternal Roam
  • travel, planning, guide, tourism, or booking partners when needed to fulfill a request you make
  • legal, regulatory, or safety authorities when required or appropriate

Service providers are expected to use information only to provide services to Eternal Roam or as otherwise permitted by law.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless we provide required notice and choices under applicable law.

09

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operating the site, maintaining accounts, providing services, improving Eternal Roam, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, protecting security, and complying with legal obligations.

If you create an account, we may keep account and saved journey information while your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated saved journey data by contacting us.

Some information may remain in backups, logs, records, or archives for a limited period where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

10

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of your personal information.

You may also:

  • update account information, if account tools are available
  • delete saved items from My Journey
  • disable browser location access
  • clear local storage through your browser settings
  • unsubscribe from marketing emails
  • contact us to request account deletion or privacy assistance
