- Saint Faustina Kowalska She entered the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in 1925 and came to the Łagiewniki convent permanently in 1936. She died there on 5 October 1938 and was buried in the sisters' cemetery; her remains were brought into the convent chapel in 1966 as her cause opened. Her tomb and the venerated image of the Merciful Jesus are in that chapel. divine-mercy-sanctuary-krakow
- Saint John Paul II He worked at the Solvay soda works in Łagiewniki under the occupation, said his first Masses in the crypt of Wawel Cathedral in 1946, was consecrated bishop there in 1958, and lived opposite the Franciscan basilica from 1963 until his election in 1978. - St. Stanislaus of Szczepanów Bishop of Kraków, killed in 1079 during a conflict with King Bolesław II and canonized at Assisi in 1253. His shrine at the centre of the nave of Wawel Cathedral is the reason the cathedral has the shape it does, and the procession from Wawel to Skałka each May still honours him. wawel-cathedral

Saint Jadwiga of Poland Crowned at Wawel in 1384, she governed as monarch in her own right, refounded the university, and was buried in the cathedral in 1399. John Paul II canonized her in Kraków in 1997. Her tomb and the crucifix associated with her prayer are both in the cathedral. wawel-cathedral

Saint Hyacinth Jacek Odrowąż, a Kraków canon who received the Dominican habit from Saint Dominic and brought the Order of Preachers to Poland in 1222. He died in the priory at Holy Trinity in 1257 and was canonized in 1594. His relics rest in the chapel above the sacristy there. dominican-basilica-krakow
